To apply for the RRHolmes Scholarship Organization for Caribbean Advancement, Inc. (RRH SOCA) Scholarship you must meet the following requirements: 1) You are a high school 12th grader -OR- you are an undergraduate college student or non-traditional student. There are no age limits. 2) You are a student from the Caribbean or of Caribbean descent. 3) You are currently attending or you are planning to attend (have been accepted to) an accredited two-year, four-year, community, vocational or trade school in the U.S.
Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago.

It typically takes our judges 8-10 weeks to read and score all of the applications.
The RRH SOCA scholarships are single-year awards. However, we encourage students to re-apply for RRH SOCA scholarships, each year, as a new applicant.
Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees and books as well as for room/board expenses related to school.
RRH SOCA scholarship award amounts range from $250-$1,500.
Yes, but RRH SOCA funds can only be applied to costs associated with study abroad if: • You remain enrolled in your home university; • The program occurs during the normal academic year; and • You will be receiving U.S. college credit towards your degree. To qualify, you must submit an enrollment verification form from your (U.S.) home university (after being notified you have been selected to receive an RRH SOCA award). Enrollment verifications from institutions abroad will not be accepted.
